2005-11-29 Photo gallery and AKToolbar
I redesigned the Gallery section of my site, you can find it here.

I've also some news on AKToolbar: I will send an alpha version of the class to anyone interested, just drop me a line or two. It its simplest form is almost ready for everyday use, but I want some guru advice and there's something wich needs testing. The "floating" fancy is not ready yet, because my knowledge of scripting is very basic and you will need it if you want to use such a feature in your programs. Any help will be very appreciated!

2005-11-20 New look 1.01
My blog's new look is only two days old and it already required some bugfixing... oh well, now it looks better even on Internet Explorer. I also updated to new look some more pages, here and there.

2005-11-18 New look!
I wasn't very happy with the look of my blog, so I changed it a bit. A lot, actually. Now it's better, isn't it? Now I'm just looking for some graphics...

2005-10-29 New server, new life
My blog has moved to a new home! You may not notice it, but it is. You may experience problems downloading my software from BeBits, until the new IP has spread. I also hope to get e-mail problems finxed as soon as possible (quite impossible on Sunday, but who knows?).
In the meantime, I miserably failed installing BeOS on a very old Thinkpad 365XD (the less compatible machine ever?), but I got a new SCSI card and a very fast hard drive (not as fast as I hoped...) for my desktop, wich now runs Zeta happily, and I fixed those bugs that made impossible to show AtomoCAD at past BeGeistert!

2005-10-12 BeGeistert 15, Zeta 1.0.1, and Tai-Chi Coder
20051012.jpgFinally I'm back home! Now I could get some real Italian pasta and real Italian pizza: you can't appreciate the difference if you're not Italian. Coca-Cola and Big Macs, instead, are the same everywhere.
Now, go back to serious things: it was a nice BeGeistert, you can take a look at my pictures. A lot of talking, developing, bug fixing, and so on. I was supposed to hold two workshops, one on AtomoCAD Toolkit and the second on AtomoCAD itself, but while the first has interested some people, the second was skipped because I couldn't fix AtomoCAD in time.
This time I brought my Dual Pentium II, wich I fitted with two sound cards, a SCSI card, two floppy drives, two hard drives, a ZIP drive, and no less than three CD burners (one was a DVD burner, actually), and with me I had a second video card, not to mention some USB storage devices. All this to show Bernd & Co. some bugs in Zeta 1.0, but they prevented me and brought a beta copy of the service pack 1. And it is doing quite well: most of the problems are disappeared and the system and almost everything has been bugfixed and is more stable. We don't know when it will be publically available, and yT of course didn't made any declaration, but they worked on it all the time fixing problem that people was reporting there.
The feelings about the company are very good. They're now a growing company, with a lot of skilled people inside, while a few years ago nobody believed they would survive the first year, and some people also thought they was doing it illegally.
But they still deserve a secret: they have not only Cola-coder, but also Thai-Chi Coder! Can you guess who is him?

2005-10-04 License, my love
A little correction: the AtomoCAD Toolkit will be released not with the BSD license, but with the MIT license, the same used for Haiku. The two licenses have very little differences, they can be easily confused. I think you can forgive me if you take a look at FSF and OSI... this is a lawyer paradise!

2005-10-01 Bye bye AttribExplorer
I decided to completely drop AttribExplorer development: it's unuseful since Haiku has its own open source replacement for DiskProbe. I also removed from the Archive any reference of AttribExplorer, BeSFX and the Lego USB Tower Driver (they're all unuseful alpha versions), as well as the old ScummVM I had here. About the Lego USB Tower: I'm going to support it in BeNQC 2.5r3, wich has waited in my hard disk for some months, thanks to ZETA USB Kit. Then, I'll work on porting NQC 3.1r2. Oh, and did I hear Velleman USB Experiment Interface Board? ;-)

2005-09-30 BeGeistert 15
I missed BeGeistert 14, but I won't miss BeGeistert 15. This time, I will bring a new version of AtomoCAD (it's becoming interesting stuff), as well as the AtomoCAD Toolkit, aka "that full featured toolbar class that Be never gave us" whit a friendly BSD license! This time I will have to drive for 900 kilometers from Milan to Duisburg because the Deutsche Bahn have raised their prices, but this will allow me to bring my dual Pentium II computer, it's not the latest speed demon but it will be interesting enough for people to see, I think :-)
Oh yes, I'm also giving my website a little restructuring: a new PHP engine, valid HTML 4.01, CSS (sorry Netpositive users), and now I call it "blog" (maybe it isn't the correct definition, but I like it). Some of the pages are still a little rough, I'll fix them over time.

2005-08-14 A submarine in Milan
20050106.jpgHow many times in a life one can see a submarine driving through the streets of a city? Of course I couldn't miss an event like this... I'm not a good photographer, but please, take a look at my pictures!

2005-07-07 The Mac is no more
They can say what they want, but everything that made a Mac is now gone. And I can almost hear my iBook crying.
Where are all those exclusive Apple technologies? They abandoned even the PowerPC... now they're only a common PC with an apple on it. They may work better than standard PCs, and this is good, but I can't see them as real Macs.
The Mac is died, long life OS X!

Now, let's go back to Zeta, I've got to finish developing a CAD.

2005-05-26 AtomoCAD is alive!
The best moments in a programmer's life is when you actually do something useful with your program.

Today, I was working in a little building project, when I had to choose the best solution for a quite complex situation. I needed to draw them all to find the best one. "If only I have a CAD...", I thought. After a few moments of embarassing silence, I said "Hey, wait a moment: I do have a CAD!" (there was nobody listening, thanksfully). So I launched AtomoCAD and, in a few minutes, I drawn all that was in my head, and the problem was solved!
This means that, even if still deeply into development, this some-thousand-of-lines-of-code beast really works!

This was really exciting, believe me!

2005-02-04 I'm (almost) back
I don't know how I did it, but three weeks ago I killed my loyal Athlon. It wasn't easy to find a replacement compatible with my motherboard, but finally I have rebuilt my workstation, with some new part. Just give me the time to fix everything and I'm back! I'm also going to put online a restyled web site, and, for your viewing pleasure, some sneak screenshots of AtomoCAD :-)

2005-01-06 Tomb Raider II - The End
20050106.jpgIt's now over! I completed Tomb Raider II today... and I'm playing it since it was released seven years ago! Of course, I used the cheat for all the weapons, and the solutions to find all the "secrets" :-)

It's time to change my video card, so I can play with more recent games :-)
